Store description excerpt

FriHi is a home screen for people who miss when phones had a visual identity. It is built around the Zune and Windows Phone "Metro" design language: oversized type, flat panels, and motion that slides like paper instead of bouncing like glass. No app drawer grid of identical rounded squares. No ads. No account. HUBS, NOT PAGES Your home screen is a set of side-scrolling hubs you choose and reorder: Home, For You, People, Apps, Work, Now Playing and Widgets. Pin apps into named groups, add widgets, and hide the hubs you don't want. MAKE IT YOURS • 24 bundled fonts, from condensed grotesques to monospace and serif faces • 32 accent colors, plus wallpaper-derived accent and a separate night accent • Gradient headings, app names colored by category, and monochrome icons • Panel style, corner shape and accent tinting • Wallpaper dim, blur or tint • Clock style, seconds, hour format and its own font • Icon size, list spacing and letter tiles for missing icons • Icon pack support Share your whole look as a short theme code, or save it to a file. No server, no account — the code carries appearance only. Every option is opt-in. If you never open settings, FriHi keeps the look it shipped with. SEARCH Pull down on any hub to search. It finds your apps, contacts and app shortcuts instantly, does arithmetic and unit conversion offline, and jumps straight to settings. Web suggestions are optional and off until you turn them on, and you pick the engine: Google, DuckDuckGo or Bing. READABILITY Bolder text, high contrast, and bigger tap targets, each as its own switch. Text scales with your system font size. PRIVACY FriHi contains no ads, no analytics, no tracking SDKs and no third-party libraries that collect data. There is no account and nothing to sign in to. Weather sends your approximate location to Open-Meteo to fetch a forecast, and only for that. Search suggestions are sent to your chosen search engine only when you enable them. Everything else — your app list, launch history, contacts, notifications and settings — stays on your device. ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE DISCLOSURE FriHi includes an optional accessibility service named "FriHi Gestures". It uses the Android AccessibilityService API for exactly one purpose: performing two system actions that an app cannot otherwise trigger. • Lock the screen — used by the optional double-tap-to-lock gesture • Open the notification shade — used by the optional swipe-down gesture This service is off by default. You enable it yourself in Android Settings, and only if you want those two gestures. Every other feature of FriHi works normally without it, and you can turn it off at any time. FriHi does not read screen content, does not record or log accessibility events, and does not use this service to observe what you do in other apps. The service is declared without permission to retrieve window content, and its event handler does no work at all. It is never used for advertising, analytics, tracking or any
