Wood instruments crack, warp, and lose tuning stability when humidity drops too low or swings too fast. Repairs cost hundreds to thousands of dollars. FretCast gives you a daily risk score so you can act before damage happens. HOW IT WORKS 1. Set up your home profile: heating type, home age, and humidifier status. 2. Add your guitar: select top wood, back wood, and storage method. 3. FretCast checks your local weather, estimates indoor humidity, and calculates a personalized risk score from 0 to 100. It takes 30 seconds to set up. No account required. DAILY RISK SCORE Your risk score updates every time you open the app. It factors in estimated indoor humidity, rate of change over 24 hours, how long conditions have been outside the safe range, your wood type sensitivity, and your storage method. Color-coded from green (safe) to red (danger) with a clear action plan. ACTION PLAN Not just a number — FretCast tells you what to do. "Move to a hard case." "Run your humidifier for 2 hours." "Conditions are stable — play and enjoy." Specific guidance based on your situation today. INSTRUMENT PROFILES Different guitars need different care. A Sitka Spruce top on a wall mount reacts differently than a Cedar top in a hard case. Set up each instrument with its own wood and storage profile.
