Store description excerpt
Your Apple Watch can do a hundred things. You do four of them. Fourfold gives you a 2x2 grid on your wrist and lets you decide what goes in it. A note you keep forgetting. A photo you want to show someone. The page you check every morning. A timer for the tea. Four squares, one tap each, no scrolling through a honeycomb of icons to find them. Set it up on your iPhone, where typing is easy. Or set it up on the watch, in your own handwriting, without touching your phone at all. WHAT GOES IN A SQUARE Note — locker combinations, a passport number, the thing you must not forget to say. Choose Note on the watch and Scribble opens straight away: no form, no title to invent, just the words. Photo — full screen on your wrist. Turn the Digital Crown to zoom. Link — type or say an address and the page brings its own name and picture to the square. Opens a real web page on your watch. Timer — your preset, one tap to start, a tap on the wrist when it's done. All four are free. AND, WITH FOURFOLD PRO, FOURTEEN MORE Chess — a wooden set, turned and lit in three dimensions, playing the whole game: castling, taking in passing, promotion, stalemate, the fifty-move rule. Tap a piece and the squares it can reach light up; watch it travel when it moves. Five strengths, or pass the wrist to a friend. Othello — real Reversi against the watch at four strengths, or a friend on the other side of the table. The discs are solid, and a captured run turns over one after another. Close the app mid-game and it is exactly where you left it. Question Gacha — crank the Crown, a capsule rolls out and cracks open, and inside is one of 150 questions worth asking. For queues, dinners and long drives. Prompter — your talking points, paced so the last one lands exactly when your talk is meant to end. Look ahead or back with the Crown and the finish time does not move. Write the script on the watch, one line at a time. Random Number — one to anything, drawn properly. Pomodoro — focus and break, on repeat, until you say stop. Spot Pin — drop a pin where you parked, follow the arrow back. Sun — how long until sunset. Or sunrise. Metronome — a silent beat, tapped on your wrist. Doodle — draw with a finger; the drawing stays on the tile. Coin Toss — heads or tails, properly tossed. Dice — flick your wrist and it rolls. Spinner — your own options, spun to pick one. Tic-Tac-Toe — against the watch, or a friend. ON YOUR WATCH FACE Add the Fourfold complication and your four squares sit on the face itself, each with its own symbol and colour. While a Timer or Pomodoro is running it becomes that countdown, and a tap lands on the square that is running. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR DEVICES There is no account, no server and no analytics. What you write stays on your iPhone and your Apple Watch, moving between them over Apple's direct device-to-device link. The only thing that ever goes out is a request to the web page you asked for, to fetch its name and picture — and that page hears nothing abo
