Store description excerpt

Footing measures how you walk and how you think, using the phone you already carry. No wearable required. No blood draw. No clinic visit. A 30-second walk and four short tests build your Gait Signature: one picture of your mobility and your thinking, tracked over time. Free to use. No subscription required to start. Find your footing. WHAT IT MEASURES Your Gait Signature combines two signatures, each with six dimensions. Mobility Signature, from your walk: Pace: your walking speed, normalized Stride: your step length relative to your height Steadiness: how consistent your strides are Symmetry: the balance between left and right steps Turn: how quickly you turn around Efficiency: how regular your vertical movement is while you walk Cognitive Signature, from four short tests (symbol match, typing burst, sequence recall, tap rhythm): Reaction: how quickly you respond Precision: how accurately you respond Attention: how consistent your response time is Memory: how long a sequence you can recall Timing: how steady your tap rhythm is Fluency: how quickly you type in a short burst The two signatures produce two scores, Mobility IQ and Cognitive IQ, each from 0 to 100. Once enough people of your age band and sex have joined, you also see a percentile against that group. Every score comes with an error range, so small changes are not overstated. HOW IT WORKS Guided walk. Put your phone in your pocket and walk for about 30 seconds. Start it in the app whenever you want. There is no fixed schedule. Cognitive tests. Four short tasks, also on demand. Your first three attempts at each test count as warm-up and are not scored. Daily walking. If you allow health access, footing reads one daily walking summary from Apple Health: walking speed, step length, asymmetry, double support, steps, and distance. Apple Health derives these from your iPhone. Collection starts when you join and covers the previous 24 hours each day. Apple Watch. The optional Apple Watch app captures arm swing during the guided walk. Results arrive within seconds of each upload. See them in the app or on the web at app.footinghealth.com, and invite a family member or clinician to see them. Sign in with Apple, Google, a passkey, or a code sent to your email. RESEARCH You can choose to contribute your measurements to research. It is opt-in only. You grant consent in Settings and can withdraw it there at any time. Without that consent, nothing goes to research. If you opt in, the data is de-identified. No name, email, or device. Dates are shifted. You are described only by age in years, sex, and broad height and weight bands. Only computed measurements are shared, never recordings. WHY IT MATTERS Walking speed has been called the sixth vital sign. Mobility and thinking tend to change gradually, which makes the changes easy to miss. A short, repeatable measurement shows where you stand today and how that compares with your own history. YOUR DATA Your walk recordings are store
