FocusPoint blocks distractions, and actually blocks them. PROGRAMS A program is a group of rules that run together: apps to block, sites to close, keywords to avoid. Turn on "Study" and everything that distracts you disappears; turn it off and you're back. APPS Full block, or a limited time limit: choose how many minutes per day, and decide separately whether the app should close when the time is up or just notify you. A timed alert, if you want it, tells you every so many minutes how much you've used and how much is left—so the limit doesn't come as a surprise. SITES Entire domains, including subdomains. The address is read from the browser bar. Sites can also have a limited time limit instead of a complete block. KEYWORDS If a word appears on the screen, the page is blocked. They are added in bursts, and there are presets by category: adult content, gambling, shopping, news, dating, trading. You choose where to look for them: only in browsers, in all apps except chats, or literally anywhere. REELS AND SHORTS A separate switch for vertical feeds: Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Facebook Reels, Snapchat Spotlight. You can immediately exit them every time one opens, or set a time limit: a block after a certain number of minutes per day, and a notification telling you how much you've already watched. It also works when you open the feed from a browser. STRICT MODE For when you don't trust yourself: choose a duration, and until it expires, the program won't shut down and the rules won't change. No shortcuts, and it includes them all. Turning your phone off and on isn't necessary: the block resets automatically upon startup. Going into Android settings to remove permissions isn't necessary: the app recognizes those screens and takes you back. Uninstalling it isn't necessary: if you've granted it device administrator permissions, Android won't let you remove it until it expires. There's only one way, and it's not a button: if you've made a configuration mistake—you accidentally blocked an app you need for work—the app gives you a request code to send via email, explaining what went wrong. The response code reopens the settings for that single rule for fifteen minutes. The session isn't canceled, and the expiration date isn't extended: not even by asking. EVERYTHING ON THE PHONE No accounts, no servers, no ads, no tracking. FocusPoint doesn't use the network: what it reads on the screen is used to decide whether to block, and it's immediately discarded. Your rules remain in the app's memory and disappear if you uninstall it. PERMISSIONS, CLEAR The Accessibility service recognizes the foreground app, the open address, and the text on the screen: it's the only way Android offers, and without it, no blocking works. Access to usage data counts minutes for limits. Device Administrator, if granted, only prevents uninstallation during a strict session.
