FocusBand Field Kit is a sensor-aware depth-of-field and hyperfocal planning studio for landscape, architecture, product, and documentary photographers who need sharp zones locked before the shutter opens—not after. Core loop in the field Pick a body and lens, set aperture, subject distance, and circle of confusion, then read near limit, far limit, total DOF, and the in-front/behind split on a live DOF band. Generate barrel-tape style hyperfocal marks or ordered focus-stack slices, and save a shot card you can share or print for the crew. No empty shell on first launch: dense seed libraries of bodies, lenses, CoC presets, and ready shot cards make the bench usable immediately. Body & sensor bench Choose full-frame, APS-C, Micro Four Thirds, or medium-format CoC presets, override CoC in microns when you need precision, and save named camera bodies with crop factor applied to every calculation. Lens kit builder Add focal lengths, maximum aperture, and minimum focus distance. Pin a working kit for a trip and see instant equivalent-FOV readout when a crop body is active. Live DOF band Dual sliders for aperture and subject distance with large near/far limits, total DOF, and front/behind split. Haptic ticks call out hyperfocal and infinity-safe zones so you feel the critical marks without staring at the glass. Hyperfocal mark sheets Generate barrel-tape style distance marks for a chosen aperture set, preview mark spacing, and share or print a one-page field strip ready for gaffer tape on the lens barrel. Focus-stack planner Enter magnification or subject scale, acceptable blur, and step rule. Get slice count, start and end focus distances, and an ordered pull list for rail or focus ring—built for tabletop, product, and near-macro work. Sun & golden-window panel Optional while-in-use location computes sunrise, sunset, civil twilight, and sun altitude for a chosen date. Mark a shoot window on a simple sky arc. No social map feed, no cloud requirement. Shot card composer Lock body, lens, aperture, distance, DOF summary, stack steps, and notes into a card. Duplicate and variant cards for A/B setups. Share as plain text or PDF for assistants and clients. Compare mode Place two setups side by side—f/8 vs f/11, 35 mm vs 50 mm—and review DOF-versus-distance curves before you pack the bag. Field widget & cues A Home Screen widget shows the next golden or blue window for your saved location and the pinned shot card’s aperture and hyperfocal. Optional local notification when your chosen sun window opens. No background audio.
