Store description excerpt
AutoPilot is the mobile side of the flight school you already fly with. Your school runs its scheduling, dispatch, maintenance and student records on AutoPilot. This app carries the parts you reach for away from a desk — standing at the airplane, walking the line, or halfway to the runway. You sign in with the email your school already has for you. AutoPilot is not a self-serve product: if your school does not use it yet, there is nothing here for you to set up on your own. WHAT YOU SEE DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU DO One app with four faces, and it picks yours from the seat your school gave you. Nobody scrolls past six tabs of somebody else's job. FOR STUDENTS • Today is your whole schedule. Swipe day to day through the week. • Your next flight sits at the top: the airplane, the instructor, the time you brief and the time you are due back. • Account keeps the things that ground you — account balance, medical certificate expiry — where you can find them before somebody asks. FOR INSTRUCTORS • The day as one clean column, headed by the number of flights in it. • The full school schedule, a week at a time, and a booking flow that expects you to make three in a row rather than one. • Check an airplane out and back in with hobbs and tach, at the airplane, instead of on a clipboard that reaches the office on Friday. • Approve or turn down schedule requests without opening a laptop. FOR THE FRONT DESK • The dispatch board: who is out, who is due back, and which airplane is where. • Move and make bookings across the whole fleet. • Every open squawk on every airframe, and which of them grounds an airplane. FOR MAINTENANCE • The squawk queue in one list, with the fleet behind it. • File what you find, close what you fixed. BUILT FOR THE RAMP, NOT THE DESK • Your day is on the screen before the network answers, and it stays there when the network stops answering. A hangar with two bars is the normal case, not the edge case. • It does not sign you out. The session lives in the iPhone keychain and renews itself. Nobody should have to type a password while standing on a wing. • Times are your school's times. Take the fleet to another state for the weekend and the schedule still reads in the clock the school runs on. • Face ID, if you want it, on a phone that gets handed around a flight line. ONE SET OF BOOKS There is no separate mobile database. This is the same schedule, the same fleet and the same squawks your school's web console shows. A booking made at the desk appears on the instructor's phone without anyone refreshing anything, and a squawk filed at the airplane is on the maintenance board before whoever filed it walks back inside.
