Store description excerpt

You know the medicine. FluentMD is for the part where you have to say it in English. Every lesson is a real hospital scene: a patient in a bed, a colleague on the phone, a family in the relatives' room. You watch it, learn the phrases it produced, then speak the doctor's lines yourself and hear how you sounded. HOW A LESSON WORKS 1. Watch the scene, line by line, with audio for every line. 2. Learn the key phrases, each with the reason British hospitals say it that way. 3. Answer a few questions on what happened. 4. Drill the wording until it comes out right. 5. Practise the pronunciation and get scored word by word. 6. Take the doctor's part and speak the whole scene yourself. 7. Keep the phrases in your phrasebook. YOUR PRONUNCIATION, SCORED Record a phrase and get a score for every word in it, with the sound to fix and a tip for how to make it. Recordings are scored and deleted immediately. Nothing is stored. REAL CLINIC SIMULATION Finish a lesson and the same scene opens again, this time with the ward on top of it: a rattling tea trolley, a patient who is hard of hearing, a relative interrupting. The clean run is the exam. This is the ward. YOUR PHRASEBOOK Every phrase you learn is saved with its audio and comes back for review just before you would forget it. THE COURSE: 153 LESSONS, 14 UNITS Ward Ready 1. First Contact: introducing yourself, confirming identity, opening a consultation. 2. Taking a History: pain, symptoms, medications, allergies, family and social history. 3. Patient Words: what patients say instead of the medical term. 4. Examination and Instructions: permission, commands and reassurance while your hands are busy. 5. Rescue and Repair: what to say when you did not understand, lost the word, or need a moment. Patient Ready 6. Explaining and Checking Understanding: diagnoses, results and medicines in plain English. 7. Talking to Colleagues: SBAR handovers, referrals, escalation and the ward round. 8. Emergency and Acute: ABCDE, resuscitation commands, triage and a crowded department. 9. Consent and Procedures: explaining procedures, risks and benefits, and the patient who says no. Consultant Ready 10. Difficult Conversations: breaking bad news, prognosis and end of life. 11. Specialty Scenarios: paediatrics, obstetrics, psychiatry, geriatrics, surgery, oncology, radiology. 12. Conflict, Error and Complaints: angry patients, honest apologies and raising concerns. 13. Professional Life: interviews, teaching, feedback, rota and MDT meetings. 14. Research and Academia: presentations, Q&A, journal club and conference small talk. Every unit ends with a Clinic Day: four encounters back to back, with nothing new to learn and everything to get right. WHO IT IS FOR Doctors, residents and medical students who trained in another language and want the English to stop being the hard part. Useful alongside OET Speaking and PLAB 2, and built for the ward rather than the exam hall. Terms and Conditions: https://fluentmd.app/t
