Store description excerpt
Flight Kneeboard seeks to provide the simplicity of the paper A5 kneeboard log sheet in a clean, simple iPad app. The design aim is easy data entry and easy reading while you're actually flying. There are four main areas of functionality: Tech Log: Capture fuel uplifted, fuel on board, Hobbs and flight-meter readings, taxi and take-off times, and landing time, chocks, and fuel remaining after you land. A read-only summary table totals fuel, Hobbs, and flight time used, for easy transfer on to Tech Log or logbook. ATIS: Record departure and destination ATIS as you listen. Wind entry auto-formats as you type, cloud layers use standard shorthand, and crosswind automatically calculates. Clearances: A CRAFT-inspired card (Clearance limit, Route, Altitude, Frequency, Transponder) for your initial clearance, plus an always-visible in-flight tracker with three scrolling columns for copying down heading, altitude, and frequency/squawk instructions. Add a new instruction with one tap; tap the latest entry again to correct it. Take-off Briefing: Your personal, aircraft-specific briefing text appears with large, tappable chips for runway, heading, altitude, and length — pre-filled from your departure ATIS and clearance. Flight Kneeboard is intentionally narrow in scope — it's not a general-purpose electronic flight bag, a moving map, or a charts app. It tries to be the kneeboard sheet you already use, in iPad form. The app works entirely offline. There's no account, no login, no cloud sync, and no network connection — every flight, aircraft, and log entry is stored only on your iPad. Important Note: Flight Kneeboard is a personal logging and briefing aid. It is NOT a certified electronic flight bag and is not a substitute for official charts, briefings, ATC instructions, your AFM, or your own judgment as pilot in command. This app was developed by a pilot for his own use. It is not commercial, and it comes with no warranty of any kind. It must not be used in any circumstances where a bug, malfunction, inaccurate information or failure would risk flight safety. Always have a backup method of logging flight data available, and never assume that the data presented by the app is authoritative or accurate.
