Christoph Poppen, a German conductor of international renown, had the dream to realize a classical Music Festival in Marvão. This dream that came to be held in July 2014, and became a magical and unforgettable moment for all present. An authentic festival, where local and unique environment were overcome by the quality of classic artists, as inspiring environment that excited and gripped the public, a phenomenon that turned out to echo across borders, revealing his mandatory rematch. The Alentejo town of Marvão is one of the most beautiful places in Portugal. Marvão together in a perfect combination architecture of a medieval castle with the breadth of silence and the trace of the surrounding nature, which is the Natural Park of Serra de São Mamede. Marvão has all the necessary elements to create a unique atmosphere, a really idyllic setting for a Classical Music Festival outdoors in its centuries-old infrastructure. It was in this place of rare beauty that the conductor Christoph Poppen had the vision to unite this ancient land with his love for classical music and give viewers a classical music festival at the highest artistic level, immersed in a unique look of natural beauty.
