Field Study is a somatic-education hub and global community for curious students and seasoned practitioners, created by The Class and born from the method founded by Taryn Toomey in 2011. Unfolding through live events, digital lectures, courses, and certified training programs. The inaugural 200-Hour Certification in Somatic Education launches in Fall 2026. Available online worldwide, it is a balance of self-study lessons, recorded content, peer group sharing, and real-time interactions with The Class Teachers—all grounded in human connection and global community. Field Study is where we deepen our understanding of somatic practice and connect with students from around the world. Through courses, workshops, conversations, and certification programs, we explore the methodology, practices, and traditions that shape the work and how they continue to inform the way we move through everyday life. INSIDE THE APP SOMATIC EDUCATION CERTIFICATION: Study the methodology of The Class in depth. Our 200-hour program is built for students who want to understand not just how the work moves the body, but why — and who want the tools to guide others through it. COURSES & GUIDED LEARNING: Structured paths through the philosophy and practice of somatic education, including somatic practices and integration sessions to bring the study back into the body.
