Store description excerpt
Reclaim the space Final Cut Pro forgot. Every Final Cut Pro library grows. Render files pile up on your timeline. Proxy media and optimized transcodes sit around long after you finished editing. Analysis files for optical flow and stabilization linger inside old events. FCPX Clean finds all of it, shows you exactly where it lives, and lets you move what you don't need to the Trash. Your Original Media is never touched. WHAT IT CLEANS Four regeneratable cache types inside every .fcpbundle: Render Files: timeline and effect renders. Rebuild automatically when you scrub through again. Proxy Media: low-res editing copies. Recreate with one menu command. Optimized Media: ProRes transcodes from camera originals. Analysis Files: optical flow and stabilization maps. Final Cut Pro regenerates all four on demand. FCPX Clean never deletes your camera footage. HOW IT WORKS Scan a volume. Point it at an internal drive, external drive, or mounted network share. FCPX Clean walks the tree and finds every .fcpbundle on it. Review the breakdown. Each library appears as an expandable row in a flat table with a proportional bar showing where the gigabytes live. Drill into individual events. Toggle between Fixed and Proportional views to compare libraries against each other. Sweep what you pick. Tri-state checkboxes per event, per library, per category, or across the whole scan. A confirmation sheet shows total folders, total size, and per-category breakdown before anything moves. Everything goes to the Trash. Files are moved via the standard macOS Trash, not permanently deleted. Restore anything from Finder until you choose to empty it. SAFETY FIRST Folders named Original Media are shown in the breakdown for visibility but can never be selected. A safety guard in the cleaner refuses to operate on them even if the UI were bypassed. Moves happen through the standard macOS Trash API, the same one Finder uses. Every cleanup requires an explicit confirmation with file count and total size. No auto mode. No preset recipes. You control every byte that leaves your drive. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Runs entirely on your Mac. No account, no sign-in, no subscription. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking. No network requests. Reads file-system metadata only, never the contents of your media files. MADE FOR MACOS Built with SwiftUI. Native window chrome, SF Symbols, Light and Dark mode. Scans run asynchronously so the interface stays responsive on large drives. Works with Final Cut Pro libraries on internal and external drives, and on SMB, AFP and NFS network shares that macOS can mount. NOTES Final Cut Pro regenerates most caches automatically the next time you open the library. Render previews rebuild during playback. Proxies and optimized media can be re-created from the Library menu. Optical flow and stabilization analysis rebuild the next time you apply the effect. Always keep independent backups of projects and footage you cannot afford to lose. Not affiliated wit
