Store description excerpt

A study app for Japan's Class B Explosives Handling Safety Supervisor exam (乙種火薬類取扱保安責任者試験). This national qualification is based on the Explosives Control Act. A safety supervisor must be appointed by anyone who owns or occupies an explosives magazine, or who consumes explosives. The Class B licence covers magazines storing under 20 tonnes of explosives per year, and sites consuming between 25 kg and 1 tonne of gunpowder or explosives per month. All 300 practice questions come with a clear explanation. ■ Subjects Covered (300 questions across 2 subjects, 8 areas) 【Law - Explosives Control Act and related regulations (20 questions in the exam)】 • General provisions, definitions, manufacture, sale, transfer and import (35) • Storage and explosives magazines (40) - permits, magazine types, storage categories, maximum quantities • Transport, consumption and disposal (40) - notifications, transport certificates, loading rules, permits • Handling, safety training, supervisors, records and penalties (35) - appointment, licences, duties, inspections 【General Explosives Science (20 questions in the exam)】 • Classification, composition and properties (40) - deflagration and detonation, velocity of detonation, oxygen balance, black powder, smokeless powder, nitrate esters, TNT, primary explosives • Explosion phenomena, performance tests and stability (35) - brisance and lead block compression test, ballistic mortar test, sympathetic detonation, impact and friction sensitivity, stability tests • Pyrotechnic devices - detonators, safety fuse, detonating cord (40) - plain and electric detonators, firing current and continuity testing, delay blasting, burning rate • Blasting methods, electric blasting and safety (35) - free face and burden, charge calculation, stemming, bench blasting, cut holes, series and parallel circuits, firing lines The exam is administered by prefectural governors once a year at venues in each prefecture. The Class B paper has 40 questions in total - 20 on law and 20 on general explosives science - and you need at least 60% in each subject to pass. Being strong in only one subject is not enough, so both halves have to be brought up together. This app records your accuracy per area automatically, so you can see exactly which areas are still below the line. The law section rewards accurate recall of figures and procedures, making it the most reliable place to score. This app splits Law into four areas and General Explosives Science into four, so you can drill the easily confused figures and requirements - maximum storage quantities, the thresholds below which transport needs no notification, transfer procedures - area by area. General Explosives Science centres on the composition and properties of explosives, the construction of pyrotechnic devices and blasting practice, which are easier to retain when tied to a mental picture of the worksite. There are no eligibility requirements: anyone can sit the exam regardless of education or w
