Ergonomics helps users observe posture and hand position with an Android camera. On-device computer vision displays body and hand landmarks, derives posture-related measurements, and prepares user-controlled numeric reports for ergonomic awareness, education, research, and professional decision support. Recognition options • Both (Hybrid Auto) combines Google ML Kit whole-body pose context with MediaPipe 21-point hand landmarks and cross-checks overlapping observations. • Google mode provides body pose plus the wrist, thumb, index-finger, and little-finger points exposed by the pose model. • MediaPipe mode provides detailed landmarks for up to two visible hands. Body-dependent measurements may be unavailable in this mode. Ergonomic observations • Live body and hand overlays with confidence and engine status • Availability-aware posture and joint measurements • Ergonomic Index plus clearly labelled simplified RULA and REBA estimates • Optional coloured-marker, standards-compliant QR, or manual screen alignment • Current-frame 3D skeleton review • Explicitly started numeric session recording, local history, deletion, and export • Optional encrypted numeric sharing to one compatible Android peer on the same local network Privacy and control Camera frames are processed transiently on the device. Raw camera images and video are not intentionally stored in numeric sessions or sent in peer packets. Sessions are saved only after an explicit recording action. Exports and local-network sharing are user initiated. No Orthopractis account, advertising SDK, or Orthopractis cloud measurement service is required. Google ML Kit and MediaPipe components send limited technical and diagnostic information to Google under Google's applicable terms and privacy policy. Important limitations Computer-vision landmarks, physical distances, angles, scores, RULA/REBA estimates, and prompts may be incomplete or wrong. Physical distance is shown only when suitable metric calibration is available. Results can vary with camera position, lighting, distance, visibility, clothing, movement, occlusion, device performance, and model limitations. Obtain permission from every person observed and independently verify any material result. Compatibility Requires Android 7.0 (API 24) or later. Live recognition requires a functioning camera and sufficient processing capability for on-device machine learning. Recognition quality and feature availability vary by device, camera, lighting, distance, visibility, permissions, and performance. Optional peer sharing requires a second compatible Android device on the same local network; Android 17 requires Local network permission.
