Store description excerpt
The Equine Upper Respiratory Tract Guide is an inclusive guide of the equine upper respiratory tract. This guide is destined for veterinarians and veterinary students, and for whom it provides a fully comprehensive tool of understanding the equine upper respiratory tract, help them establish accurate diagnoses in a timely manner for the patient's well-being and client satisfaction, and guide them in the choice and application of treatment. For a broad use, faster distribution and better user experience, it was more interesting to present the elaborated guide in form of an Android application with text and illustrations being in English, as it is the most commonly spoken language in the world. Thereby the application will impact more people and will have a broader user base. The creation of this application was an integral part of a veterinary thesis intituled "Conception and creation of an android application for the equine upper respiratory tract". The thesis' goal was to provide clinicians and students with a rich, accessible, illustrated reference for the equine upper respiratory tract. A reference that can be easily accessed no matter when or where. The thesis was conducted by Zouhair ER-RAHBY, and supervised by, in its different stages, Pr. Mohammed Piro (DVM, Phd) and Pr. Khalid El ALLALI (DVM, Phd) . The mobile application include different sections each dedicated to present an aspect of the upper respiratory tract. One of the sections describe the anatomy of the tract’s organ, while another section cover the current diagnostic techniques. Finally, the upper respiratory tract’s disorders and abnormalities are covered in details in another section. A diagnosis aid tool for the equine upper respiratory tract (DATEURT) was also developed. This tool generate a list of differential diagnosis from a set of symptoms. The information on the mobile application are presented in form of a structured and well organized text supported by figures and videos which were inserted to enhance understanding of the information. Furthermore, to enhance the user experience, different functionalities were integrated as part of this application.
