Store description excerpt

Power Watch keeps an eye on the Macs, Linux and Windows servers, routers, NAS devices, smart plugs, managed power strips, and UPSes that keep your network running. Build checks that prove a service is useful, not merely switched on: • TCP connection • SSH handshake and login, including detection of a wedged login service • Web response with optional expected text and HTTPS account authentication • Database port or PostgreSQL account health query • DNS resolution • TLS certificate validation Find devices on a local network, a routed private subnet, a VPN, or Tailscale. Power Watch can use Bonjour, common management ports, Tailscale peer routes, MagicDNS names, and FrontierStack helper signals. A device can keep multiple LAN addresses and a separate VPN or Tailscale address. Detection suggests Mac, Linux, or Windows when there is enough evidence, and always allows a manual choice. Connect the server to the exact plug or managed outlet that supplies it. Power Watch supports: • SwitchBot Plug and Plug Mini through SwitchBot OpenAPI • Home Assistant, Shelly, and Tasmota • Dataprobe iBoot-PDU, WTI, Aviosys IP Power, and Digital Loggers • Network UPS Tools for UPS and managed PDU monitoring • Exact HTTP controller endpoints • A one-click browser interface for controllers that cannot be operated directly Compatible devices can report watts, temperature, battery charge, provider alarms, and separate UPS input and output real power. Set your own temperature, power, and low-battery limits. Warnings appear in device views, the menu bar, the floating status palette, and notifications. Recovery starts conservatively. New watches only notify you. Automatic power remains off until you assign a controller, add at least two independent checks, verify that the machine restarts after power loss, and accept a separate hard-power confirmation. Any successful check blocks the power cycle. Each confirmed incident gets one attempt followed by a cooldown. Before hard power, Power Watch can request a fixed graceful reboot through an authenticated URL or a fixed SSH reboot command. Passwords, API tokens, host keys, and controller secrets stay in Apple Keychain. Activity history records decisions and results, never credentials. Keep status available without leaving the main window open. The menu bar lists every watched device and plug, runs individual checks, and resumes paused devices. The tiny movable palette shows overall health and calls attention to problems. Power Watch can open at login and continues monitoring while its main window is closed. Allow local macOS notifications or connect Enfour remote alerts. Enfour receives a private heartbeat and fixed health counts—not device names, addresses, or credentials—and retries queued events when the service is unavailable. A registered iPhone can be warned when the monitoring Mac stops checking in. Pair the optional iPhone and iPad app by scanning the QR code on the Mac. The mobile app can show health and activit
