EmpowerDriver is the driver app for the EMobility Power project in Nairobi, Kenya. It helps taxi and boda boda drivers track their driving activity and build a profile for electric vehicle loan eligibility. EMobility Power is a Dutch-Kenyan consortium working to make electric vehicles accessible and affordable for Nairobi's drivers, reducing operating costs and urban pollution. HOW IT WORKS Log in with your National ID and phone number Choose which data you want to share (location, device info, SMS) The app tracks your trips in the background throughout your workday View your trip history, distances, and daily summaries Your driving profile helps assess eligibility for EV financing through our lending partner Platcorp FEATURES Automatic trip tracking with GPS route recording Daily and weekly driving summaries Trip history with map visualization Vehicle management SMS analysis from financial services (M-PESA) for income verification Battery monitoring for connected EV batteries via Bluetooth Full data privacy controls — export or delete your data anytime YOUR DATA, YOUR CHOICE All data collection is opt-in. You choose exactly what to share during onboarding and can change your preferences anytime in Settings. We comply with the Kenya Data Protection Act (KDPA). Developed by InCharge Technologies as part of the EMobility Power consortium (emobilitypower.org). Currently available for drivers participating in the EMobility Power project in Nairobi.
