KNIGHT has six letters and three sounds. NITE has four letters and the same three sounds. In ECHO, they are the same word. Every day there's a hidden word made of exactly five sounds. You type ordinary English words, and the tiles tell you which sounds you got right — not which letters. HOW IT WORKS • Type any real word with five sounds. The beat counter tells you when you're there. • Tiles turn green when the sound is right and in the right place. • Your word appears chopped into its sounds: SPLASH becomes S-P-L-A-SH. Six letters, five sounds. • Six guesses. THE STRANGE PART PETAL, PLANK and PLANT look nothing alike. They're neighbours in sound. You'll find yourself holding three green tiles while your guesses share almost no letters — and that's when it clicks. Guess a homophone and you win. If the answer is PLANE and you type PLAIN, that's a solve. They sound identical, and sound is all that counts here.
