Easy Analog turns the iPhone into a single-lens reflex camera of the 1970s and 1980s. Learning film usually comes with a delay. A roll holds 36 frames, days pass before development, and when a picture has failed the reason is rarely still clear. Here the result is there at once. The course covers the controls in eight steps. Each step adds one more control. The viewfinder holds a shutter dial, an aperture bar, a microprism ring and a light meter. The image brightens and darkens according to how the controls are set, and shows the depth of field and the grain of the film loaded. Lens and light meter can be matched to the camera at hand, for a realistic experience. Every frame is judged on exposure, risk of camera shake and focus.
