Store description excerpt
Earning it: The things you want, locked behind an effort you choose. Name a reward; something you want to buy or something you want to do, price it in effort and unlock it through work. Similar to a quest-reward system in a video game. Built with impulse shoppers and go-getters alike in mind. One uses the app to slow their spending, the other to make their purchases more intentional. I fall into both these camps and you might too. Either way the reward stays locked till the work is done. Buying got easy. One click, same day delivery and the ‘wanting’ is over before it starts. The good part was never the having, it was the working towards. Think of counting down to a holiday, or the last stretch of a goal worth having. Earning it puts the wanting and the working back before the checkout. FOUR WAYS TO EARN IT • Task: Count one thing to a number you choose. The unit is yours: reps, books, hours of deep work, gym sessions, ice baths, whatever you like. Hit the number and the reward unlocks. • Multi-Task: A checklist, almost like a multi-part quest. Log 10 gym sessions, run 80 km, cook 12 dinners at home: the efforts don't have to match, and the reward waits for the last box. • Wait Until: The thing you want unlocks on a future date you set, not a day earlier. Wait until the New Year for the guitar, or two pay cycles for the jacket. Still want it then? It was never an impulse, and the holding out is what earned it. • Abstain: Give something up for a stretch you choose: no doomscrolling for two weeks, no drinking for the month. Press pause on a bad habit, or make quitting one finally pay. If you slip, hit the reset. Back to day one and try again. NOT A HABIT TRACKER. NOT A BUDGETING APP. A habit tracker assumes you're here to build a habit. A budgeting app assumes you overspent. Both start from a version of you that needs fixing. Earning It starts from something you want. A habit tracker runs on streaks. Miss one day and a strong month reads as a zero. Earning It never takes anything back. Every session you logged is still logged, and the reward waits at your number. It rewards inconsistent consistency. A budget only sees money going out. It tells you to stop. It never tells you what you are stopping for. In Earning It, the night you stayed in and the drink you skipped both count towards the thing you actually want. Every action or inaction is a payment towards it. No points. No cheer squad. No money staked on the outcome. The anti-impulse app. BUILT TO FEEL EARNED • Every log lands in a running history with your notes. Proof, for the days you don't feel like you've done anything. • Claim a reward and it lands in the trophy room with everything you've earned. Paid in full. Enjoy it. • Share a card that shows the reward and what it cost you. Flexing's better when it's earned. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No ads. No tracking. Works offline in a shed or on a plane, syncs when you're back. Delete your account and everything in it from inside the app.
