EAD Transport App is the mobile module of the EAD Transport solution developed by the Postal Technology Centre of the Universal Postal Union. The purpose of this app, and the EAD Transport solution in general, is to support transport companies in the processes associated with transporting mail on behalf of Designated Postal Operators. The current version is a preliminary release, and it includes the following features: • Checking of EAD status for a given mail receptacle by scanning or entering the receptacle identifier • Checking the EAD status of all mail receptacles planned to be transported on a given transport, by entering the transport number and departure date/time • Receiving push notifications when EAD security alerts (“Do Not Load” referrals) are issued for mail transported through the facility/transport company where the App is used Future versions of the App will deliver additional functionality.
