Store description excerpt
Dragon Ear is a research app from Graz University of Technology, developed as part of a project on children's language development. The app aims to collect children's speech recordings to support scientific research in the field of language processing. The app allows children to repeat various linguistic content. This includes individual words from basic children's vocabulary, short sentences, numbers, simple arithmetic problems, and other linguistic elements. The speech recordings help us better understand how children perceive, produce, and process language. These insights can contribute to the development of improved learning and support programs in the long term. The project is being conducted in collaboration with Audiolie – a learning app that supports children in developing their auditory perception. The app can only be used by registered users. Would you like to participate? Register at https://www.audiolie.com/aufnahmen. App Features Simple Speech Recordings Children repeat given words, sentences, or numbers. They can also record free text. The app is intentionally designed to be simple so that children can use it intuitively. Child-friendly design The tasks are based on children's basic vocabulary and are easy to understand. Listen to recordings After each recording, it can be played back directly in the app. Manage recordings Recorded audio data can be reviewed and deleted if necessary. Secure upload The audio recordings can be securely uploaded to a server at Graz University of Technology for use in scientific analysis. Recordings can be stopped at any time without giving a reason. Contribution to research With each recording, children make a valuable contribution to scientific research. The collected audio data helps researchers to: • better understand language development processes • develop and improve speech recognition models for children • further develop digital learning systems • optimize support programs for children Collaboration The Drachenohr project is a collaboration between Graz University of Technology and Audiolie, a learning app for promoting auditory perception in children.
