Store description excerpt

Generations of students drew this soccer game in the margins of graph paper: two players, one sheet, and a ball rebounding off the lines. DotFootball rebuilds it for your phone, with clean visuals and an opponent that is always available. The board and the moves The field is a dot grid, 8 by 10 squares, with a goal centered on the top line and on the bottom line. The ball begins in the middle. Players alternate turns, moving the ball one step in any of eight directions, horizontal, vertical or diagonal, and each move draws a line between two dots. Once drawn, that line is used up. Neither player can travel it again, so the field steadily fills with the history of your own game and each choice narrows the next one. Bounces are the whole game Whenever the ball hits a sideline, a goalpost, or a dot it has already passed through, it rebounds and the same player moves again. Chain those rebounds and a single turn can take the ball from midfield all the way into the net. Building those corridors, and denying them to your opponent, is what separates a beginner from a strong player. A goal is scored only when the ball lands exactly at the center of the goal line, between the posts. Push it into your own goal and that counts too. If it is your turn and no legal move remains, you lose the round. Each player also has a clock for the round, three minutes by default, and running it out loses the round the same way. Matches are played to three goals. Three ways to play Against the AI at three difficulty levels: Easy, Medium and Expert. Easy is a comfortable place to learn how rebounds work. Expert calculates several moves ahead and punishes a careless corridor immediately. Two players on a single phone, passing the device after every move, exactly the way the paper version worked. Championship mode is a complete tournament: a group stage with a standings table, followed by the knockout bracket, round of 16, quarterfinal, semifinal and final. Over 30 national teams are included, each with a different strength rating. Pick one and take it to the trophy. Built for short breaks A single match runs from a few minutes up to about a quarter hour, which fits a commute or a coffee break. The championship is waiting when you want a longer session. Everything runs fully offline, with no account, no registration and no connection required. Easy to learn, hard to win The rules take thirty seconds to explain, but the tactics hold up far longer. This is a thinking game rather than a reflex game: you do not need fast hands, only to see one move further than your opponent. Over time the grid stops looking like dots and starts looking like routes, some open, some already spent. More than a time killer Rebounds are what set this apart from ordinary grid puzzles. A chain of them feels like a real attack: the ball clips the post, turns, and slides through a gap you left open three moves ago. The championship gives those moments stakes, because a semifinal goal is w
