Store description excerpt
You have 20 seconds to draw the word you are given. Then Sakura the cat comes to guess it. Doodle Quiz is a one-player drawing game that uses no connection at all. There is no opponent, no friend list, no leaderboard. The only other player is one small AI inside this device. So it works on a train, in a waiting room, or in aeroplane mode. [Sakura thinks out loud while you draw] - One word appears. You have 20 seconds - With every stroke, Sakura mutters her thoughts: "a cat? ...no?" - Three candidates are shown with how strongly she believes each one, so you can see exactly where she got confused. Right or wrong, that is the fun part - When she does not know, she says so: "hmm, I have no idea..." She never pretends [If she gets it wrong, it is not your fault] - When she misses, she says "so it was a cat. Thank you for showing me" - The settings say it too: "Sakura's guess is only a guess. If she misses, it does not mean your drawing is bad" - There is scoring, but nothing that compares you with other people. All that remains is your own best [Two ways to play] - Alone - one word, 20 seconds. A single round when you feel like it is the nicest way to play - Streak - ten in a row. Your score comes from how many she got and the time you had left. Only your personal best is kept [20 words, all everyday things] - Animals: cat, fish, butterfly, snake, snail - Food: apple, banana, ice cream, pizza, carrot - Vehicles: car, aeroplane, bicycle, sailboat, train - Around you: house, umbrella, clock, scissors, ladder - Packs can be switched on and off in the settings [The gallery is a specimen box of your own drawings] - Everything you draw gathers in the gallery - What Sakura said, and whether she got it, are kept alongside - Drawings of the same word can be lined up. Your third cat is usually a different cat from your first - There is nowhere to publish them. What is here stays inside this device [The one doing the guessing is an AI inside this device] - Sakura is a small image classifier of under 1MB, included in the app. Your drawing is not sent anywhere to be judged - Tested on drawings not used in training, the top answer was correct 92.9% of the time, and the correct word was in the top three 96.7% of the time (measured on test data for the 20 words, on CPU) - That said, people draw in wonderfully different ways. It will not match those numbers for everyone, and it will miss - There is no AI here that draws. The AI in this app only guesses [No connection, no ads, no permissions] - Your drawings and scores are kept inside this device only. Nothing is sent anywhere - It asks for no permissions at all: no camera, photos, microphone or location - No account needed - No ads - There are no buttons that take you out of the app - There is no feed of other people's drawings, and nowhere to post your own [About the one-time purchase] - Not a subscription. One payment, once - Free, you can play the 10 animal and food words, with no time limit, every day. T
