Shelter dogs, backyard crosses, doodles and street rescues all work. When a dog is clearly a mix, the result says so and lists the parent breeds it most resembles, in order of likelihood. When a photo is not good enough to be sure, it says that instead of inventing a breed. HOW LONG DOES THIS BREED LIVE? That number leads every result, because it is what people actually want to know once they have the name. A Great Dane and a Chihuahua are both dogs and they are not remotely the same commitment: one typically lives around 8 to 10 years, the other around 14 to 16. You see the range before anything else.
