DIT Media Calculator is a fast, accurate storage and media planner for on-set data management. Built for DITs, data wranglers, camera assistants and production, it turns a camera package into the numbers you actually need: how much storage per day, how much for the whole job, how many cards, how long offloads take, and how much archive and backup media to order. PLAN THE WHOLE SHOOT • Add up to 26 cameras (A–Z), each with its own codec, resolution, frame rate, color profile and media card. • Real manufacturer specs for ARRI, RED, Sony, Blackmagic, Canon, Panasonic and more — with correct sensor modes, codec data rates and recording limits. • Add your own custom cameras for anything not in the catalog. • Model production audio alongside picture (tracks, sample rate, bit depth). INSTANT, HONEST NUMBERS • Per-day and per-project storage, broken down by originals, proxies and audio. • Camera cards on hand per day — with a built-in three-card-per-camera safety floor so you never plan yourself short. • Offload, transcode, LTO and upload time estimates. • Shuttle drives, on-site backup sets, LTO tapes and cloud dailies, all sized for you. PROXIES, DAILIES & ARCHIVE • Set up dailies and editorial proxy formats and see the extra storage and transcode time they add. • Plan LTO archive copies and on-site RAID backups with verification factored in. PROFESSIONAL PDF REPORTS • Export a clean, color-coded report for production — Standard or full Technical. • Add your company logo and DIT contact details to the header. • Includes sensor coverage graphics in the Technical report.
