Store description excerpt
That ready meal you keep buying? The recipe is on the back of the packet — it just isn't written as one. Photograph the ingredient list, add a photo of the dish itself, and DishCopy writes the recipe: real quantities, ordered steps, a time and a difficulty. Then you cook it. Cheaper than the packet, fresher, and as healthy as you decide to make it. FROM PACKET TO PAN 1. Photograph the back. The ingredient list says exactly what's in there, in order of weight. A photo of the meal tells us what it should end up looking like. 2. Answer two questions. Some things a label can't tell you — was it creamy, how much heat. Two taps and it's right. Skip is always there. 3. Cook it tonight. Quantities for your number of people, steps in the writing style you picked, and a timer where the time actually matters. If a photo can't be read, DishCopy says so instead of inventing something, and that attempt doesn't count against you. COOKING MODE At the stove your phone becomes a cookbook that doesn't fall shut. Big type, one step at a time, and the screen stays awake so you aren't tapping it with wet hands. Timers sit in the steps that need them, and the ingredients stay one swipe away. A COOKBOOK THAT'S ACTUALLY YOURS Copied dishes, recipes you typed in yourself and your grandmother's pancakes all sit side by side. • Works offline. Your recipes live on your phone. No signal in the shop, no wifi in the holiday house: everything is still there. • Scales servings. Two people to five with one tap, quantities rounded the way you'd write them by hand. • Everything editable. Less salt, extra garlic, a note for next time. What you change stays yours. • Searches your own book. By name, by ingredient, or by a line from a step. Half a courgette left over? Search for it. • Shares as a PDF. A recipe you send to the family chat looks like a recipe. Or export the lot as JSON for yourself. • English and Dutch, metric or imperial. The whole app, including the recipes you wrote yourself. Switch whenever you like. FOUR WRITING VOICES Quick and minimal, beginner-friendly, chef's card, or family style. Pick one and every dish you copy is written that way. WHAT IT WON'T DO It won't hand you the factory's exact dish — a factory has ingredients you don't keep at home. What you get lands very close, made with fresh things instead of powders. Most people end up preferring their own version. And when it genuinely isn't sure, it asks rather than invents. Whatever you skip stays flagged on the recipe, so you always know what to taste for. YOUR PHOTOS Photos stay on your device. They travel only at the moment you copy a dish, and they aren't kept afterwards to train anything. You can delete your account, and everything attached to it, from inside the app. Three dish copies a month, free. Writing your own recipes is unlimited and always will be.
