Someone mentions a date and you name the weekday. No calendar, no phone, no pause. It looks like a party trick. It's a method — and Day Genius teaches it in eight steps, one at a time, with a timed drill after each. HOW IT WORKS Every month has a code. Add that code, the day of the month, and a code for the year. Take the remainder after dividing by seven. That number is the weekday. It's addition and one division you can do while someone is still finishing the question. Day Genius breaks it into eight steps. Score at least 90% in a step's drill three times to move forward, so you get repeated practice before building on it. The first four steps are free; the one-time Full Method unlock makes steps 5–8 available through the same progression: 1. Day numbers — 0 = Sunday through 6 = Saturday 2. Take out the sevens — turning any total into a day number 3. Month codes — twelve values, each with a memory hook 4. Combine — your first real weekday 5. Year code — turn any year into its code 6. Leap-year rule 7. Century shift — any century, not just this one 8. Full date — everything together, at speed THREE WAYS TO PRACTISE Check yourself with untimed questions that show the reasoning and record nothing. Work the step's flashcard deck — every step has one, free ones included. Then the timed drill. DRILLS THAT LEARN YOUR WEAK SPOTS Every answer is timed and recorded. Day Genius tracks the specific months, years and centuries you get wrong or slow, then mixes them back into later drills without being asked. You get a per-skill breakdown, a speed trend, a practice streak, and a redrill that targets exactly what tripped you up. TWO GAMES Speed Round — ten random dates against the clock, with a full breakdown afterwards. Date Drop — dates fall from the top and you drag each into its weekday bucket before it lands. Catch them early and in a row for combos. CORRECT BACK TO YEAR 1 Day Genius goes back to year 1 and handles Britain's calendar switch explicitly. Britain and its colonies skipped 3-13 September 1752 — those eleven dates did not exist in that calendar — and before the switch every fourth year was a leap year with no century exception. Earlier dates use the Julian calendar under British reckoning, so results can differ from countries that changed calendars on other dates. The engine is cross-validated against an independent algorithm across thousands of dates. THE REFERENCE Every table behind the method: day numbers, sevens, month codes, combining them, the year-code recipe, leap years, century shifts, and year-to-code study lists for your own century. Each table opens as you master its step; tables tied to steps 5–8 also require the Full Method unlock. The date checker is open from the first launch — pick any date and it names the weekday, and after you unlock and master the year code it shows the worked line too.
