No one. daktilo is an encrypted typewriter. Your letter is encrypted on your phone and turned into a printable origami envelope: the words live as QR codes on paper you fold with your own hands. Our servers never see a single word — there is nothing to hack, nothing to subpoena, nothing to leak. HOW IT WORKS • Write your letter and pick the opening date • It is sealed on your device: the key is locked to a future date using drand, a public randomness network run by independent organizations worldwide • Print the envelope, fold it, hand it over — or share the capsule digitally • On the chosen day, the lock simply falls. The letter opens with the code inside the envelope — even if we no longer exist WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • Opening early is mathematically impossible — not a policy, mathematics • No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no ads • Every letter carries a verified author stamp (Google sign-in), sealed inside the encryption — no one can write a letter in your name • The capsule format is an open specification — your letter doesn't even need us A letter to your newborn for their 18th birthday.
