A living 24-hour dial shows the present hour at a glance, with the current office lit in gold and a slow hand sweeping through the day. THE SERVICES Each office includes an abbreviated form intended for lay reading, following the Russian usage: - The usual beginning, in the reader's form — for praying without a priest - The psalms appointed to the hour, by their Septuagint numbering - The troparia and Theotokia of the hour - The prayer of the hour, in full - Quiet rubrics marking what is said, and what is read A follow-along outline of the Divine Liturgy is included as well, offered so that the faithful may prepare.
