CurieSim brings the classic nuclear-physics school experiments to the iPad and becomes a full alternative to real experimental setups. Where a whole class often has to share just a few sources and instruments, with CurieSim your students always have their own lab with them and experiment independently and completely safely. Count rates, spectra, ranges and energies are simulated just as realistically as the behavior of the individual measuring instruments. Even the background count rate, the dead time of the counter tube and statistical fluctuations are taken into account. Thanks to the intuitive controls, every experiment is set up in seconds — from a simple determination of the background rate to the backscattering of beta radiation.
