Store description excerpt
CurbCues answers one question out loud: what's around you? Large buttons fill the screen. Press one and listen. There is no map to read, no menu to navigate, and nothing to learn. WHAT EACH BUTTON DOES Intersection — Speaks the nearest street corner, with the distance and the direction to reach it. Address — Speaks the nearest building number and street name, then repeats the number one digit at a time. Food Nearby — Speaks the two or three closest restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores, each with distance and direction. BUILT FOR LISTENING Every announcement includes approximately how far away something is and which way to go. When your phone's compass is reliable, directions are given as a clock face — "at your 2 o'clock" — relative to the way you are facing. Announcements play even when the ring switch is set to silent, and lower your music instead of stopping it. If your GPS signal is weak, the app tells you so rather than reading out an answer it isn't sure about. LIVE MODE Turn on Live and the app repeats your last selection automatically as you walk, with fresh location data each time. Choose an update every 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 2 minutes. DESIGNED FOR ACCESSIBILITY - Three full-width buttons, each roughly a third of the screen - High contrast black and white, no color required to tell buttons apart - Full VoiceOver support with clear labels and hints - Adjustable speech speed from 0.75x to 2x, with a preview before you save - Haptic feedback confirms every press - Respects Reduce Motion PRIVACY Your location is used to answer the question you asked, and nothing else. No account. No sign-up. No tracking. CurbCues is a helper app — not navigation and not a replacement for any assistive device. Always use your own senses and training when crossing streets.
