Store description excerpt

Cue is a quiet, passive grounding companion for your wrist and ears. When your Apple Watch notices a spike in heart rate or a drop in heart rate variability — the kind your body throws when anxiety is starting to climb — Cue plays a brief grounding cue through your AirPods. No buttons. No journaling. No streaks. Just a 30-second sensory reset, the moment your nervous system asks for one. Most mindfulness apps wait for you to remember. Cue notices first. WHAT IT DOES • Reads heart rate, heart rate variability, and respiratory rate from Apple Watch (HealthKit, on-device only) • Learns your resting baseline over the first week • Triggers when your physiology drifts above your own normal — not a generic threshold • Plays one of six grounding cues through AirPods, drawn from established techniques: sensory anchoring, breath pacing, somatic noting, body presence, cognitive reset, and self-compassion • Falls back to a silent haptic + glanceable card if you don't have headphones in PASSIVE BY DESIGN You shouldn't have to know you're spiralling for the app to help. Cue runs in the background and only speaks when your body says you're activated. Maximum one cue every thirty minutes, five per day — never alarming, never demanding. SCRIPTED BY A PRACTITIONER Cue is built by an experienced meditator and mindfulness practitioner. Each cue is fifteen to forty-five seconds long with contemplative pacing, drawing on evidence-informed grounding methods: 5-4-3-2-1 sensory anchoring, physiological sigh breathing, somatic noting (Polyvagal-informed), Somatic Experiencing orienting, cognitive-attentional reset, and Neff-style self-compassion. ON-DEVICE, FULL STOP Heart rate, HRV, and respiratory data never leave your iPhone or Apple Watch. There's no account. No sync. No cloud analytics. No third-party SDKs. Even the cue audio is bundled with the app — Cue works on aeroplane mode. SUBSCRIPTION $4.99/month or $34.99/year. The 7-day free trial is also your baseline calibration — Cue won't trigger anything until it has learned your normal. A MINDFULNESS COMPANION, NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE Cue is a wellness tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace mental health care. If you're in crisis, please call your local crisis line.
