CrystalCut is a private, local-first image editor for removing backgrounds, refining object selections, enhancing detail, resizing images, and converting files on your Mac. Its AI models and processing engine are included with the Mac App Store download, so your images stay on your computer. BACKGROUND REMOVAL WITH CONTROL • Remove a background automatically with one click. • Guide AI object selection with include and exclude marks when a scene contains multiple subjects. • Start from an empty mask and paint a selection manually when you need complete control. • Refine each file with edge smoothing, feathering, expand or contract, faint-pixel trimming, and mask contrast. • Preserve transparency that already exists in the source image. SEE EVERY DETAIL • Switch between Original, Preview, Mask, and Compare views without losing context. • Drag the comparison divider across the original and transparent result. • Zoom, fit, pan, and rotate while inspecting difficult edges. • Preview transparency against checkerboard, light, or dark backgrounds. BATCH WORKFLOWS • Add individual JPEG, PNG, or WebP images, add a folder, paste, or drag and drop. • Reorder files and process an entire queue with consistent settings. • Export transparent PNG, lossy WebP, or lossless WebP files. • Keep original dimensions, resize by percentage, or set a target long edge. • Use fast high-quality resizing or optional local AI enhancement up to 4× and 64 megapixels. • Save reusable presets for format, quality, dimensions, destination, naming, and metadata. SAFE OUTPUT AND METADATA • Save beside the original, in a neighboring folder, or in a folder you choose. • Add a prefix or suffix, or build names from sequence, capture date, camera, and lens tokens. • Existing files are never overwritten silently. • Choose whether to preserve safe capture metadata. GPS coordinates and generation prompts remain off unless you explicitly include them. • Source files are never modified. PRIVATE BY DESIGN CrystalCut has no account, advertising, analytics, telemetry, or tracking. The Mac App Store version has no network entitlement. Source images, previews, masks, metadata, workspace state, and exported results remain on your Mac.
