Covenant Breaker is a retro arcade shoot 'em up about the most terrifying force in the galaxy: a bureaucracy with weapons. Fly a hand-built brass and copper ship through thirty levels of vertical-scrolling shmup action against inspectors, board members, appraisers and compliance officers who genuinely believe they are being reasonable. TWO PILOTS, ONE GRIEVANCE Play as Dave, who just wants to keep his house, or Brenda, who has read the bylaws and found a loophole shaped like a cannon. Each has their own story, told across ten chapters of painted, steampunk cutscenes. FIFTEEN LEVELS FREE, FIFTEEN MORE TO UNLOCK Chapters one to five are free: fifteen levels, five boss fights, and both pilots' stories from the first inspection to the Grand Arbiter. Assessor Territory unlocks chapters six to ten. Every boss battle runs three phases, each with its own mechanics and an unshakeable belief that you are the one being unprofessional. Learn the pattern, dodge the barrage, find the opening. BUILD YOUR LOADOUT Nine weapons across five mounts — five of those weapons are in the free chapters, and all five mounts are unlocked by chapter five. Steam cannons that hit like a freight train made of angry tea kettles. Clockwork missiles. Cog shield emitters. Boiler mines. Tesla coils. Arm your ship in the Fitting Bay between chapters and decide what kind of problem you want to be. EVERY WEAPON IS A LIFE There is no health bar. Each mount you fly with is a hitpoint, and every hit knocks a weapon offline for the rest of the chapter. Fly heavy and you can absorb mistakes. Fly clean and you keep your firepower. Lose the last one and the run is over. BONUS ROUNDS AND SIDE BUSINESS Survive a performance review. Thread an asteroid belt. Appraise some curb appeal. Hold off a swarm. Four bonus rounds break up the campaign, each with its own scoring.
