Store description excerpt
Name the composer. Six clues, or one recording. Composerdle is a daily classical-music guessing game for people who love the repertoire — and for anyone who wants to know it better. BY FACTS One composer hides behind six fun-fact clues, cryptic first and obvious last. Guess early for more points, or spend a try on the next clue. A surname is enough. BY EAR A real recording plays alongside its engraved score, with the composer's name inked out. Name the composer from the sound and the notation alone. Recognise the piece as well and your points double. Stuck? A hint reveals the year, era or genre — for the price of a try. THREE DIFFICULTIES Easy draws on common-knowledge clues and the pieces everyone knows. Hard goes to the niche and the obscure. Medium doubles your score, Hard triples it. A DAILY PUZZLE, AND ENDLESS PRACTICE Today's puzzle builds your streak. Every other round still counts toward your career total, so you can play as long as you like. A LEADERBOARD Pick a stage name and take your place. Career standings and today's results, updated live. 141 PIECES, HONESTLY SOURCED Bach to Mahler, Vivaldi to Gershwin, orchestral scores to solo piano. Every recording is public domain or Creative Commons and every performer is credited by name, alongside the edition each score comes from. Nothing is scraped, nothing is uncredited. No account. No advertising. No tracking. Just the music.
