Store description excerpt

Give your groovebox a compa. COMPA is a musical companion for iPhone and iPad. Keep the workflow you love on your hardware, and bring COMPA in to reach a control, add a pattern, catch a sample, or record the take. It can help with one part of a jam or take on more when you need it. You do not have to rebuild your setup around it. BUILT AROUND YOUR GEAR Supported devices get their own profiles, MIDI defaults, and controls—not a blank controller map. Work with SP-404MKII effects, P-6 granular controls, T-8 bass and drums, EP-40 pads, or the EP-136 Sidekick's audio pairs. The available tools depend on the device. Profiles include Roland SP-404MKII, P-6, T-8, S-1, J-6 and E-4; Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II, EP-40 RIDDIM and EP-136 K.O. Sidekick; Akai MPC Sample; and Ableton Move. Connection requirements vary. A MIDI connection does not automatically carry audio. Cables, adapters, powered hubs, interfaces, and hardware settings depend on your setup. CHOMP: CATCH IT, CHOP IT, PLAY IT Record onto a pad or import a sound. Trim, chop, tune, reverse, sequence, and perform it. Threshold recording can wait for incoming audio. Play sample pads or keys, build patterns, and shape a performance with live effects. Use CHOMP inside COMPA or load the included CHOMP AUv3 in a compatible host. PATTERNS FOR THE INSTRUMENT Start with a melodic pattern or a drum groove, then change the notes, rhythm, and feel. Hosted instruments can use a melodic or drum grid, with a manual role override when needed. Hardware profiles provide the lanes, pads, or native-pattern controls appropriate to that instrument. Link drum, bass, rhythm and top-line parts into a group with a shared key and chords. Save complete Sets, switch them together, and send the parts to Clips or Arrange. FETCH helps develop chords, bass, melody, and drums, with parts routed to built-in voices, compatible AUv3 instruments, or connected MIDI hardware. FETCH + KEYS AUv3 tools are included too. SHARE TEMPO AND AUDIO Join an Ableton Link session, choose Link Start/Stop behavior, and send MIDI clock and transport to supported hardware. Link Audio can share the mix or individual sources between compatible devices—including an iPhone and iPad without Ableton Live or a computer. Wireless audio is buffered and depends on your network. MIX, ROUTE, RECORD Balance sources, add AUv3 inserts and sends, and work with floating plug-in windows. Use Clips for loops and takes, and Arrange to develop a song. Where the devices and iOS/iPadOS route allow it, choose one supported device for audio input and another for output. QUOTA STEMS AND QUOTA KITS INCLUDED Separate vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments on device with Quota Stems Standard 4. Organize, build, import, and export sampler kits with Quota Kits. Both workspaces are included in COMPA; optional models may require an initial download. Desktop Quota products are separate purchases with different capabilities. HARDWARE OPTIONAL Make music with
