Store description excerpt

Clew — English through stories, audio, and context. You're used to studying English IN PARTS. First words. Then phrases. Then exercises. And the meaning appears only after you've lost track. But in real life, the language doesn't work that way. The words seem familiar, but the sentence doesn't fit. The text is more or less understandable, but spoken English eludes you. The lesson seems finished, but little sticks in your mind. Clew does the opposite. First, STORY. Then, MEANING. And within that: words, phrases, pronunciation, and review. No abstract flashcards. No random phrases. A SCENE YOU UNDERSTOOD IN ENGLISH. That changes the feeling. IF YOU READ 10 MINUTES A DAY 1 day. One scene you understood in English. 3 days. Several excerpts. The first words that are repeated. More sense, less guessing. 7 days. Your first book finished. Not all English. But you're not starting from scratch anymore. HOW IT WORKS 1. Choose a story. Clew has English books and texts for different levels. Many books are adapted for fast reading: you can finish them in 2–3 hours. 2. Read and listen. The audio with native speakers helps you get used to the rhythm, intonation, and speed of English. 3. Translate when you need to. Tap a word if you get stuck. Translate a whole sentence if you understand the words, but the meaning doesn't quite fit. 4. Check your understanding. Short questions and review help you solidify what just appeared in the story. WHY CLEW HELPS There's something simple that's often underestimated. Language sticks better when words don't appear in isolation, but rather within a context you understand. Studies call this extensive reading and incidental vocabulary learning. First: read regularly in another language. Second: recall words through a comprehensible context, without memorizing them separately. A meta-analysis in the Educational Psychology Review shows that extensive reading helps not only with reading comprehension, but also with vocabulary, fluency, motivation, writing, speaking, and overall language proficiency. A meta-analysis by Cambridge Core/Language Teaching provides figures: after exposure to comprehensible text, audio, or video, participants learned between 9% and 18% of the target words immediately and retained between 6% and 17% in subsequent tests. A word works best when it doesn't appear in isolation. It appears within a context. Clew is built around this logic. WHO IS CLEW FOR? If you know words, but get lost in sentences. If you read better than you understand when you listen. If you're tired of flashcards and repetitive exercises. If you want to study 5–15 minutes a day and see gradual, but real, progress. WHERE TO START? Choose your first book not because of how "useful" it seems, but because of its size. The important thing is to finish it quickly and feel the results. Even if you already have a good vocabulary, start with the simplified version. If it's too easy, switch to the original
