Choose your preferred scoring rule: add 26 points to your opponents, subtract 26 from your score, or use the conditional option. Jack of Diamonds Add the optional Jack of Diamonds rule for an extra scoring twist. Capture the Jack of Diamonds to reduce your score by 10 points. Small Hearts Want a faster game? Play Small Hearts using a streamlined 32-card deck with the 2–7 cards removed from each suit. Small Hearts uses a lower target score for quicker games. Review and replay Use trick review during the round and hand replay after each hand to look back through key tricks and learn from the cards played. Quick rules After the deal, each player passes three cards. The player with the 2 of Clubs leads. Players must follow suit if possible. Hearts and the Queen of Spades are penalty cards, and Hearts cannot be led until they have been broken. At the end of each hand, penalty cards are added to each player’s score. The game ends when a player reaches the target score, and the lowest score wins.
