With Signal Bids enabled, computer players can use low opening bids to share information with their partner and can understand signals made by either their computer partner or the player. Sacrifice Bids introduce more advanced endgame decisions. A computer player may deliberately overcall when an opponent’s current contract could win the game, but only when losing the sacrifice would keep its own team in contention. How Bid Whist works Players bid the number of books they expect their partnership to win above six, or pass. Bids can be Uptown, Downtown or No Trump. The winning bidder chooses the contract, takes the kitty, discards and then tries to win enough books with their partner. For Uptown and Downtown contracts, the winning bidder sets the trump suit.
