Claim Hours helps you track your work-from-home hours so you can claim your tax deduction at the end of the year. If you work from home, even part of the time, you can claim 70 cents for every hour (for FY26). As the ATO doesn't accept estimates, you need a log kept as you go throughout the year. That's what Claim Hours does. You open the app, record your hours in less than 15 seconds, and continue on with your day. HOW IT WORKS Tap log, enter your start time and end time, add a quick note about what you worked on, and you're done. Most entries take about 15 seconds. When tax time rolls around, export your records as a PDF, spreadsheet, or CSV. The PDF is formatted so your accountant can use it straight away. It has your dates, times, total hours, the ATO rate, and your deduction amount all laid out. WHAT'S FREE Pretty much everything. You can log as many entries as you want, view your full history, check your running total, and see charts of your hours by week or month. There are no locked features, no daily limits, and no trial period. You only pay when you want to export. That costs $4.99 AUD per financial year, and once you've paid, you can export data for that financial year as many times as you need in any format. No subscription. No recurring charges. WHY PAY $4.99? Claim Hours has no ads, and shows you an estimate of what you'll claim back in deductions and savings come tax time. The app typically pays for itself in approximately two weeks. ATO RATES The fixed rate method lets you claim a set amount per hour worked from home. The rate is 67 cents per hour for FY2024 and FY2025, increasing to 70 cents per hour from FY2026 onwards. Claim Hours applies the correct rate automatically based on the financial year. To use this method, the ATO requires a record kept at or near the time you actually worked. Not a guess at the end of the year.
