Citizen Eyes is an initiative by the Government of Meghalaya towards citizen participation to address the various civic issues plaguing society. The app allows the citizen to register with his mobile number and provide his name and address during the first usage of the app. The citizen can submit his complaints about the civic issues by selecting the available category, providing a description, and clicking a photo from the app. The app does not provide the provision for uploading from the gallery. Once the grievance is submitted, they receive a complaint ID. The app provides a provision to track the progress of the submitted grievance. The officials assigned to resolve the grievance will receive notifications once a complaint is received. They can dispose of the complaint using the app. It also provides a feature whereby officials can intimate if the complaint resolution takes time. The app provides service only for the Shillong region initially. The following civic issues are mapped initially • Burning of Waste • Car washing in rivers • Construction Material lying on Road • Discharge of untreated wastewater from commercial and industrial units • Dumping of waste and garbage into rivers • Hit and Run • Hooking from the electric line • No-entry violation • Open Dumping of garbage • Parking lots issue • Road accident • Sparking in pole • Sparking in transformer • Titled poles • Transformer damage • Wrong Parking
