Store description excerpt

Citewrite is a private research workbench for turning folders of papers into a verified citation library, understanding a body of research, and making clear visualizations from reviewed study data. ORGANIZE THE LITERATURE Point Citewrite at one or more folders. It inventories supported documents, fingerprints every file with SHA-256, groups exact and likely duplicates, and extracts citation metadata on your Mac. Deterministic parsers recognize DOI, arXiv, PMID, ISBN, and ORCID identifiers; Vision OCR helps with scanned pages. When you allow online lookups, Citewrite can confirm records against Crossref, arXiv, PubMed, OpenLibrary, and Semantic Scholar. Nothing changes until you review it. Accept or dismiss citations individually or in bulk, edit uncertain records, and keep the best copy from a duplicate group. BUILD A CLEAN LIBRARY Rename accepted files in place with collision-safe names and an Undo Last Rename journal, or consolidate approved documents into a separate library. Consolidation copies and SHA-256-verifies each file, never overwrites, leaves source files unchanged, and writes a citation sidecar beside every copy. Export accepted citations as BibTeX, RIS, CSL-JSON, or CSV. UNDERSTAND YOUR RESEARCH Create projects from accepted citations and analyze the collection as a whole. Citewrite surfaces metadata completeness, distributions, duplicate groups, alerts, and the exact citation scope behind each result. For study-level work, Citewrite can preserve page-level text provenance, discover candidate tables and figures for review, and import CSV or JSON datasets through a preview-and-accept workflow. Profile accepted datasets and compare versions locally in Citewrite's sandboxed analysis service. MAKE VISUALIZATIONS Turn accepted data into bar, line, scatter, heatmap, treemap, or network views. Choose fields, filters, aggregation, sorting, limits, and accessible palettes in the visualization studio. Every saved visualization stays bound to the exact accepted dataset version and content hash that produced it. Export visualizations as SVG, PNG, PDF, or self-contained HTML with provenance. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Extraction, OCR, citation analysis, dataset profiling, comparisons, and the local evidence digest run on your Mac. Public-catalog lookups send identifiers — or an extracted title when no identifier exists — never document text. Optional model providers may receive bounded excerpts only after you enable online resolution and confirm the request. Local model servers stay local. Citewrite has no analytics, ads, or cross-app tracking. YOU CONTROL EVERY CHANGE Citewrite never renames, consolidates, or exports a document you have not accepted. Study tables and imported datasets also require review before they become accepted data. Requires macOS 14 or later. Apple Intelligence title reading requires macOS 26 or later on supported Macs.
