Church of Jesus is the app for the congregation at 30 Glen Ave, Paramus. THE SHUTTLE Book a seat on a church van in a few taps. The app shows which runs are open, how many seats are left, and where each run is going. Once you have a seat, the Ride screen names the corner to stand on — the landmark the stop is actually known by, not just its name. Once the driver sets off you can see how far away the van is and roughly when it will reach you. You get a notification when it starts, when it arrives, and if anything changes. Seats are not assigned; the app tells you how many there are and the congregation sorts out who sits where, the way it always has. Cancel any time before the van leaves; cancel before the driver sets off and the seat goes to whoever is waiting. THE WORD Sunday's message, and the ones before it, shelved by service — English, Korean, dedications, worship. Captions come on by default, which matters in a bilingual church — turn them off with one tap if you would rather. FOR DRIVERS Volunteering to drive takes a few more details, because it means carrying fourteen people. Once the office approves you, your run appears on the morning of the trip: the list of who is boarding, a way to call anyone who is not at the stop, and location sharing that starts when you tap Start run and stops when you end it. ACCOUNTS Signing in takes a phone number and a six-digit code — there is no password. New accounts are reviewed by the church office before a seat can be booked. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: your name, phone number and any driver application, including the photograph of your licence, are erased. If you have ridden with us before, the church keeps the ride record with your name taken off it.
