EXPLORE 150 CHINESE DISHES Browse a curated offline guide covering dim sum, noodles, rice, hot pot, regional classics, vegetables, soups, snacks, and desserts. Each entry includes: • English and Chinese names • Pinyin pronunciation • A plain-English explanation • Common ingredients and spice level • Cultural and ordering context • Typical nutrition estimates SCAN A MENU ON YOUR IPHONE Photograph a clear menu section or choose an image with Apple’s photo picker. ChowGuide uses on-device text recognition, suggests possible catalog matches, and lets you edit, replace, remove, or manually add every result before ordering. BUILD AN ORDERING SCRIPT Select dishes and create one clear script in Chinese, pinyin, and English. Adjust party size and spice preference, ask for vegetarian preparation, and add major-allergy reminders. Use the large staff-facing view when it is time to order. KEEP A PRIVATE FOOD LOG Save what you ate, serving estimates, notes, and restaurant details. See daily estimated calories and macros, weekly meal count, and a simple logging streak. Your food history and preferences stay in ChowGuide’s local database on your iPhone. CHOWGUIDE PLUS Plus adds one new editor-built Chinese meal guide each month, with complementary dishes, ordering rhythm, and culture notes cached for offline reading. It also suggests additional dishes offline using party size, spice, vegetarian preferences, and current selections. It can hide dishes the local catalog explicitly flags for selected allergens, but missing flags never mean a dish is suitable. Core scanning, translation, ordering, safety, and food-log features remain free. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No ChowGuide account is required. Menu photos, recognized text, food logs, and dietary preferences are not uploaded to us. Monthly guide updates are downloaded without sending that dining information or a purchase identifier. Apple processes payments, and ChowGuide uses Apple StoreKit to verify purchases and restore Plus access. IMPORTANT Dish matching, cultural notes, nutrition, ingredient, dietary, and allergy information may be incomplete or wrong. Restaurant recipes and cross-contact vary.
