Store description excerpt

Chess Caddy is a free, offline-friendly tool for running in-person chess tournaments — built for the person actually running the room, not for online play. Whether you're hosting a Tuesday club night, a school event, or a weekend open, Chess Caddy handles the fiddly parts so you can focus on the players: pairings, results, and live standings, all from one device. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Automatic Swiss pairings — one tap pairs each round by score, avoids rematches, balances colors, and handles byes fairly. • Multiple formats — Swiss, round-robin, single-elimination knockout, and Bughouse (teams of two), including random-partner "scramble" mode. • Live standings & tiebreaks — enter a result and the leaderboard updates instantly, with Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, and Cumulative tiebreaks and medals for the top three. • Player management — add players in seconds, edit on the fly, and withdraw or re-enter anyone without breaking the standings. • Forfeits & no-shows — record them cleanly without skewing the math. • Print & share — print pairing sheets and standings wall charts, share standings straight from the system share sheet, or export a whole tournament to a file to back up or reopen later. • Undo & auto-backup — step back through changes, with an automatic backup so a misclick never costs you the event. WORKS OFFLINE — YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS Running a tournament needs no account and no internet. Your tournament data is stored on your device and stays there unless you choose to publish or export it. A dropped Wi-Fi connection never stops play. OPTIONAL: A CLUB PAGE If you want your results to live somewhere permanent, you can publish them to a club page at chesscaddy.com — a rating ladder that carries from one club night to the next, an archive of every event you have run, and a page for each of your members. A club page needs a free account and a subscription: $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year. Everything else in the app stays free. WHO IT'S FOR Club organizers, tournament directors, chess teachers, and anyone who needs to run a fair, friendly over-the-board event without spreadsheets or pairing cards. Free to run tournaments.
