Store description excerpt
The Progress Protocol. Most protocols measure how much more you did. This one measures what it cost you. THE COUNTS Three times inside the morning hour you put two fingers on your wrist and count. Prima before you move. Media once you have settled. Ultima the moment you stop, and once more a minute later while you keep walking. Each one is three movements. Spiritus, settle the breath. Pulsus, take the count. Census, read what it says. The breath comes first for a reason rather than a mood: your rate climbs as you inhale and falls as you exhale, so counting across a ragged breath measures the breath as much as the heart. You never type a number and you never watch a clock. Press when you start counting and release on the twentieth beat, or let a tone start and stop you and enter what you counted. Either way the app does the arithmetic and hands it back in beats and per cent. Nothing appears on screen while you count. You cannot read and count at the same time, and a number you can watch is a number you start chasing. WHAT THE COUNTS TELL YOU The ultima against the media is your drift: what the same pace cost you by the end. The fall across the minute after you stop is your recovery. Both are read against your own history and never against a table, because a threshold borrowed from a clinical treadmill test would be a claim this app has no business making. No strap. No watch. No account with a company that keeps your heartbeat on a server. The body is the instrument. The sensor is a second opinion. THE METHOD Most training asks you to empty the tank twice a week. This asks for a few short sets spread across the day, every day, and one easy hour on your feet each morning. No set is ever hard. The work still adds up, so lighter weeks are built in and you are expected to take them. Early strength is largely coordination: the nervous system learning to use what you already have. That is built by frequent unhurried repetition, not by exhaustion. So you practise four movements at roughly half of what you could manage, always stopping with reps still in the tank. Pull-ups. Push-ups. Air squats. Hanging leg raises. Nothing else, and nothing you need a gym for beyond a bar. THE MORNING HOUR Every day carries a session rather than a number of minutes: an easy walk, an easy jog, threshold work, hill economy, a long easy hour, or recovery. The programme chooses, from where you stand in your block. Quality never sits beside quality. Lighter weeks and the taper drop the hard work entirely, because that is what they are for. A BLOCK THAT FITS YOU Choose six, eight, twelve or sixteen weeks, or type any length from four weeks to a year. Everything reshapes around it: per-set targets, daily touches, the shape of the week, and where the lighter weeks fall. When a block finishes it rolls into a fresh cycle at the same length. It never expires. EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR PHONE No account. No password. No server. No analytics. Your log lives in this app
