Hold your Romanian electronic identity card (CEI) against your phone and see everything stored in its chip within seconds: names, personal numeric code (CNP), date of birth, photo, signature, validity and, with the card PIN, your home address. HOW IT WORKS 1. Type the CAN, the 6-digit code printed on the front of the card, bottom right. 2. If you also want the address, tick the PIN option and enter the 4-digit PIN. 3. Hold the card flat against the top of the phone, on the back, until the read finishes. 4. Done. Export a PDF and send it wherever you need. WHAT IT READS • Surname, given names, CNP, sex, nationality • Date of birth, document number, validity, issuing authority • The photo and signature stored in the chip, sharper than the printed ones • Home address, protected by the card's 4-digit PIN "AUTHENTIC CEI" CHECK The chip data is digitally signed by the Romanian state at issuance. The app verifies the signature and the certificate chain up to the national authority (CSCA Romania) on the phone, so you know the data shown is exactly what is written in the chip. PRIVACY • No account, no server, no ads, no analytics. • Nothing leaves your phone. The result disappears when you close the screen. • The PIN is never stored and is sent to the card only once. The app never tries to guess it and shows how many attempts remain. • The PDF is created only on request and you decide where it goes. PDF EXPORT A clean document with the data, photo, signature and address, generated on the phone. Handy at the bank, school, notary or anywhere you are asked to prove your address, which is no longer printed on the new card. LANGUAGES Romanian, English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu and Chinese. REQUIREMENTS • A phone with NFC. • A Romanian electronic identity card (the chip model issued since 2021). The old card has no chip. • The CAN printed on the card. Optionally the 4-digit PIN for the address. TIPS • Remove thick cases and keep the card still until the end. • After 5 wrong PINs the card locks and can only be unlocked at the population records office. The app never retries on its own.
