Store description excerpt

Cataract Logbook is a tool for ophthalmology residents to easily track and reflect on their cataract surgeries using a structured, step-based approach. Built around the reverse training method published in BMJ Open Ophthalmology by Malavazzi, Lake & Soriano (2019, DOI: 10.1136/bmjophth-2018-000190), the app mirrors the progressive steps of phacoemulsification, helping residents learn safely and improve with confidence. Residents log each surgery by step, rate their own performance, and export data for structured review or academic presentation. The app was designed by cataract surgeon Jonathan Lake, MD, and aims to flatten the steep learning curve of phaco while building a clear, exportable surgical record for training and beyond. Read the original article: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmjophth-2018-000190 Features: Log cases step-by-step using reverse training methodology Built-in IOL entry and notes field Self-rating for each surgical step Export full logbook to CSV Created by a cataract surgeon, for surgeons in training
