WHAT ONE PHOTO GIVES YOU - The closest matching breed, and how confident the AI is about it - The breed's typical lifespan, always shown as a range - Breed group, and the country the breed was developed in - Coat type, coat pattern, and how much the breed sheds - Temperament, energy level, and how talkative the breed tends to be - Adult weight in kg and lb, and the kind of home the breed usually suits BUILT FOR EVERYDAY HOUSE CATS Most cats are not pedigrees, and the app is built around that. A cat from a shelter, a street, or a neighbor's litter usually comes back as Domestic Shorthair or Domestic Longhair, with the breeds it most resembles listed alongside. That is a real answer, not a failure to find one. Tabby, calico, tortoiseshell and tuxedo are coat patterns rather than breeds, so the app names the pattern and the breed underneath it separately. HOW LONG DO CATS OF THIS BREED LIVE? That range leads every result, before anything else, because it is what people actually want to know. It is a breed-average range describing the breed as a whole, and breeds genuinely differ: some sit around 12 to 15 years, others around 15 to 20. It is a fact about the breed, never a statement about the individual cat in the photo. A photograph cannot see age, weight, diet, indoor or outdoor life, or anything a veterinarian would check. THE TRAITS THAT DECIDE WHETHER A CAT FITS Two cats that look almost the same can suit completely different homes. Vocal level matters in a small apartment. Coat type and shedding matter if someone in the house is sensitive, though no cat breed is truly non-allergenic. Energy level matters if the cat will be alone all day.
